what to grow

We'll come round and have a chat about this. It's a bit confusing to say the least. We'll ask you about what you like to eat and how much of your own work you want to put into the garden (or get the kids to do!) because some things you can pop in the ground and pull them out two or three months later and some things are a bit more needy (but always worth it).
But mostly, you plop the seeds in some suitable ground, make sure they get light and water and leave the rest up to God. Or Mother Nature. Or evolution. We think it's amazing and awe inspiring to grow your own food and we don't mind who or what you want to thank for it.

I like to grow potatoes. Some people say that growing potatoes is a bit of a waste of space in a small plot when they take up quite a lot of room and take quite a long time to grow. They obviously don't like potatoes as much as I do!
On the other hand, I don't much like growing carrots. Don't get me wrong, I adore eating carrots. Love them. And they store well, and you can leave them in the ground for a lot of the winter. But, by gum I find them a faff.
